From: Eric Maisel, PhD
San Francisco, CA
Dear Writer:
I've been a writer for thirty-five years and I've had just about that many books published. I've met a lot of people in the writing profession from around the country and around the world, some of the top people in the business, and now I feel fortunate to be able to present them to you in what may be the best writers' conference ever, real or virtual. I invite you to make yourself comfortable and take a few minutes to read about this unique opportunity: The Writers TeleSummit 2008.
Eric Maisel
Author, Creativity Coach and Co-Founder of TeleSummits.com
When?
Thursday, September 4th through Sunday, September 7, 2008. 24 great sessions. 6 one-hour sessions over four days, conveniently scheduled to suit your needs whether you live on the East Coast, the West Coast, or anywhere in between. (And if you live elsewhere in the world: all sessions are recorded!)
Where?
Right in the comfort of your own home or office!
Who?
You won't find this many knowledgeable, successful - and genuinely helpful - industry professionals in one place, talking directly to you and taking your questions, except at The Writers TeleSummit. This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity. Not only is our roster excellent, our presenters will be focused on telling you what you need to know to really move your writing life forward. The things they wished they had learned starting out. The keys. Their very best tips.
Unlike an ordinary writers conference, with The Writers TeleSummit you don't have to choose between sessions or choose a track. At a regular writers conference you get one or two keynote speakers and then you have to make choices. Here all of our 24 speakers are keynote speakers. You get to hear them all and learn from all of them as they present--and listen to them again at your leisure.
You won't find a roster like this at any writers' conference, and the cost of The Writers TeleSummit is a fraction of what it would cost you to travel to a regional or national writers' conference. You'll see a breakdown of costs a little later on, but the difference is obvious: no flight, no hotel room, no meals, no expenses whatsoever. No worries about feeling out of place or out of step. No chance of spending more time shopping at the conference bookstore than furthering your writing career. No need to worry about making pitches to agents and editors obligated to field (and deflect) them. With The Writers TeleSummit, you learn, absorb, and really grow.
John Dillon & Vivian Nesbitt - hosts and moderators
Each session will be focused by our excellent moderators John Dillon and Vivian Nesbitt, who have years of experience interviewing and drawing information out of guests as hosts of the nationally syndicated Art of the Song Creativity Radio. After an initial 5-10 minute interview, each speaker will present a focused, keynote presentation that gives you more information that you really need. At the end, Vivian and John will pose the questions you want asked and answered. This makes for a perfect hour with each presenter--again, not something you get at the average conference. List of presenters subject (though not likely) to change.
Only Available Here!
Really, have you ever seen a group like this gathered in one place? Indeed, it would be almost impossible to get them together in one physical location - Bobette teaches around the world much of the year, Ed is on the road presenting his popular "acting for animators" workshops in places like India and Singapore, Sheree would have to make the trek from Canada, Janet would have to take a break from selling books to publishers, Roccie would have to skip out on her duties as executive director of a nonprofit, Jan would have to take her eyes off her three imprints, Red Wheel, Weiser, and Conari. These are busy people who live all over the country - and out of the country - and the average writers' conference simply can't get them to come. We have them all!
It really makes a difference who is doing the presenting at any conference you choose to attend. Most writers' conferences can attract one keynote speaker: we have 24. Our co-founder Eric Maisel is often the only keynote speaker in attendance at a writers' conference - he's done the keynote at the Jack London Writers Conference, the Mendocino Writers Conference, the Pikes Peak Writers Conference, the William Saroyan Writers Conference, and many others: we have not one but 24 presenters of keynote caliber. You get to hear each one, ask each one questions, and learn from the best.
Surprise Benefit!
One of the great benefits of The Writers TeleSummit is that you get to try on writing genres that you might never have dreamed of considering and that might suit you beautifully.
You may never have thought of writing a travel memoir, a nature book, a mystery, or a self-help book, but when you listen to our expert speakers you may discover a whole new world opening up for you.
Take this as a great opportunity! It's not just the obvious presentations that will prove of value to you, the ones in genres in which you already write. New possibilities and ways of thinking about your writing career will open up to you as you listen to our superb speakers and learn about their fascinating genres.
Who knows which one of our 24 presentations will open up a new door for you? Try them all on! - and since they're recorded, that's a snap to do... at your own pace.
Questions About the TeleSummit Format?
Here's What You Need to Know:
1. The Live Event is Held Over the Phone
A few weeks before the TeleSummit, you will receive a conference bridge number and an access code. On the day and time of the sessions, just pick up your phone, dial the numbers and you'll be connected to the event. Long distance charges may apply. Or, if you want to save telephone charges, you can download or stream the sessions the next day. Choose to listen to some of the presentations live and some later. It's up to you!
2. The Live Event is 6 hours a Day Over a Four-Day Period
The TeleSummit begins on Thursday, September 4, 2008 and ends Sunday, September 7, 2008. We start at 12:00 pm EST (New York time) each day and end at 7:30 pm EST (New York time), with substantial half-hour breaks between each session (so you can check your email and grab a sandwich).
3. Interaction During the Live Event Is Encouraged
The sessions will be muted to achieve the highest level of call recording, but that doesn't mean you can't ask questions. Shoot them off via email right as you're listening and we will get as many of your questions answered as we possibly can.
Unavailable When the Live Calls Take Place?
No Problem! You Can Listen Anytime At Your Leisure
Listening live is a great experience. But if you can't join us live for any given session, not to worry. Each session will be recorded and made available to you in a variety of ways. If you choose Plan A, you get all of the following benefits:

They have information at their fingertips that will make a difference. I hope you'll leap at this exceptional experience! See you at The Writers TeleSummit.
