JUST RELEASED! CONTRACTS COMPANION FOR WRITERS
BY ATTORNEY TONYA EVANS-WALLS, Legal Write Publications
A legal reference guide with the rights of writers in mind!
Contracts Companion for Writers is a comprehensive collection of
contracts for the publishing industry (in an appendix and on enclosed
CD-ROM) drafted with the rights of writers in mind. This book empowers
writers at every level of their careers to maximize the value of their
work and "get it in writing." From the seasoned author published with
a major publishing company to the author thinking of signing a
publishing deal with an independent publisher to the writer who
aspires to publish or is thinking of signing with an agent or working
on a project with a collaborator to the freelancer and even the
songwriter - every writer can benefit from the forms, key clauses,
deal points, explanations, and real-life examples contained in this
book.

Dan Poynter says it's "an amazingly comprehensive, easy-to-understand
examination of the contracts most important to writers." Visit
www.literarylawguide.com/contractscompanion.htm to find out what secrets
you'll discover from an legal expert inside this book!

I NEED ATTENTION
Hah - got your attention with that line, didn't I? It popped into
my head as I was basking in the afterglow of my birthday last Monday.
Lots of people sent e-cards and emails to help me celebrate. Lots of
family called. It wasn't until the end of the day I realized there
weren't a lot of presents. There wasn't even a party. My family and
I went to a new restaurant I'm in love with now, and I splurged on
French Silk Pie for dessert. Yum.

I like birthdays better than almost every other holiday. It's about
the one person and nothing else. That person is special. Everyone
calls, writes and reminds them that they are appreciated in some way
for being in this world. Even my dentist sent an e-card.

People remember when you remember them.

Of course you cannot log in everyone's birthday that you know.
However, there's nothing wrong with an annual tally of who in your
life makes your writing easier, better, more successful. Pick one
day per year and send thank-yous to those who have enabled you as
a writer - the postmaster, the clerk at the office supply, the kid
who works on your computer, the newsletter editor who sent you
markets, the editorial assistant who helped you get your query
put through to someone higher, the bookstore manager, the school
teacher who let you speak to her class, the librarian, the president
of your writing group.

Didn't realize that all that aloneness in your study actually had
a herd of people in the background, did you?

Don't care to keep a list of everyone? Let's make it easier. Put
a stack of thank-you cards near your bills. Everytime you write the
bills, send thanks to those who have aided you since the last time
you wrote bills.

Still too much to keep up with? Bookmark the freebie e-card sites
on your desktop and drop someone a funny, pretty, heart-touching,
encouraging or blissful note. Here are a few...

We all need a little attention. Remember that the next time you
do well as a writer. Recall who helped you get this far and drop
them a note of thanks.

The Growing Genre of Erotica
By Roxanne Rhoads

NOTE: Please go to this link...
www.fundsforwriters.com/roxannerhoads.htm
...for this week's article. It involves a growing genre of
writing some of you might be interested in, to include author
groups and markets for the genre. However, email filters will
likely screen it out of an email and some writers might not
be interested in such a subject, so we've placed it online for
you to read at your leisure.
